NUS Event

Details of the Event (NUANSA '09: Sitti Nurbaya)
- It aims to show the cultural bankruptcy of old Minangkabau tradition, which affected the life of Indonesian women in West Sumatra in 1930s -

Date: 5th Sept [Saturday]
Venue: University Cultural Centre [NUS]
Time: 3pm & 8pm (There are 2 shows.)
Number of Performers: 16 males and 11 females

The make-up would generally be stage, there may/may not be hairstyling. All the performers make-up will stay the same throughout the whole show. They just need the performers to be touched up after the 3pm show, to have them ready for the 8pm show. The make-up materials will all be provided by them, we only need to support them with the manpower.

I will get back to you girls on whether they need a sample make-up session so that you girls know what they are looking out for and they will know what they want on the event day itself.

This meeting is really important and it is compulsory for everyone to be present.

Yio Chu Kang National Day Observance Ceremony

AMK GRC has kindly requested NYP to send a contingent of about 80-100 supporters for the above-mentioned event.

All the supporters will get a free "Yiolympics and National Day Observance Ceremony" T-shirt.

The event is called, YIOLYMPICS cum 44th National Day Observance Ceremony. Its in support of Youth Olympic. Theme for Ceremony is "Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Mind".

Guest-of-Honour for the event is Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister & MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC.

They are trying to involve the neighbouring schools too (e.g. Ang Mo Kio Secondary, Anderson JC, YCK Sec School). The parade contingent will be formed by the uniform groups from AMK Sec and maybe Yio Chu Kang Sec. It seems that it would be something like a mini national day parade.

City Alive! 2009

Would you like to be part of Singapore's Biggest Street Dance Party ?

City Alive! is currently looking for volunteers for the dance party!
City Alive! will be on 31 Jan 2009 at City Hall Front.

Volunteers are required to report at 4pm and the dance party will last till 3am (1 Feb). As it is a dance party, club rules apply thus all volunteers need to be 18 as at 31 Jan 2009.

As volunteers, we will be spilt into different groups such as security, logistics, and many others.

If you're interested, do drop by the Student Affairs Office (Block E, Level 4) by 14 January 2009 to fill up the City Alive! volunteer registration forms.

Forms are to be handed in by 15 January 2009.
